Privacy Policy

House Rules stores your game data on your device and offers optional Apple services for syncing and shared play. This policy explains those features and how subscriptions are processed.
What the app does
House Rules lets you set up rules for the games you play and keep score during sessions, on your own or together with other people over SharePlay. Everything you create happens on your device.
What we collect
You do not need to create a House Rules account to keep score. Your profiles, rules, scores, and player names are not sent to servers operated by us or to RevenueCat.
House Rules uses RevenueCat to manage Pro subscriptions. Apple processes payments. RevenueCat receives purchase history, transaction information, and subscription status to validate purchases, restore access, provide subscription functionality, and perform subscription analytics. Subscription requests also include an app user identifier and technical information such as the app version, device model, operating system, preferred languages, and Apple's vendor identifier for the device when available.
The app does not provide RevenueCat with your player name, contact details, rules, scores, or game history. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for more information about its handling of this information.
House Rules does not include advertising or use subscription information to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
Your data
The player profiles, rules, and session history you create are stored locally on your device. You can delete them in the app. Deleting the app removes its local storage; it does not cancel a subscription or automatically remove copies already stored in iCloud.
Voice Setup
Voice Setup is optional. If you choose to speak a rule, the app requests microphone and speech-recognition permission and uses Apple's speech frameworks to turn your speech into text. On supported devices, Apple's on-device Foundation Models interpret the rule description. The app does not send the audio or rule description to RevenueCat or to a developer-operated AI service. Availability depends on the device, language, settings, and required models. You can use the manual rule builder instead.
iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your game data is stored in the private database of your own iCloud account so your other devices can read it. We cannot access that private database. iCloud storage is provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Shared sessions (SharePlay)
When you start a shared session, the session's details are shared with the people you play with through Apple's SharePlay. That exchange happens over Apple's infrastructure between your devices — none of it passes through servers of ours.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version ships with the app and the effective date above is revised.
